If it does not fit your socket, the plug should be cut off from the mains lead, and an appropriate plug fitted, as below. WARNING: Very carefully dispose of the cut off plug after removing the fuse: do not insert in a 13 Amp socket elsewhere in the house as this could cause a shock hazard. The colour of the correct replacement fuse cover is that as marked on the base of the plug. INSTALLATION The appliance is available in a portable and a fixed version. In order to attach the appliance to the wall, use two dowels and two screws which are to be inserted in the holes provided on the rear of the appliance. Lock the appliance then onto the wall by means of a screw positioned at the bottom of the appliance. When positioning the appliance, pay attention to the minimum distances indicated in fig. 1. If the appliance is installed in a bathroom, it absolutely must be located on the wall outside of the "critical zones" as illustrated in fig. 2. OPERATION MODELS WITHOUT TIMER Summer use (ventilation only): turn the knob clockwise to the position. Heating at low power: turn the knob to the 1 position. The pilot lamp switches on. Heating at maximum power: turn the knob to the 2 position. The pilot lamp switches on. Setting the thermostat: when the room temperature has reached the desired level, slowly turn the thermostat dial counter-clockwise until the pilot light goes out (or until you hear a `click' on models without pilot light) but no further. The thermostat will now automatically maintain the temperature at the desired level. Switching the heater off: turn the knob fully counter-clockwise to the "O" position. MODELS WITH 24 HOUR PROGRAM UNIT (TIMER) In order to program the heating function, proceed in the following manner: Look at your watch. If it, for example, indicates that the time is 6 PM (18 hours), then turn the numbered disk of the program unit clockwise until the number 18 lines up with the reference marker on the face of the timer. Set the time periods in which the appliance is to function, pulling out the pins of the timer. At this point you will see the sectors which correspond to the functioning times. Once the appliance is set in this manner, it will function automatically every day during the programmed periods. Important: In order to maintain the programming, it is necessary to keep the electric plug inserted in the electric socket. In order to change the programming, put the pins back into their original positions and set the functioning periods from scratch. Each pin corresponds to a 30 minute period. Bypassing the program: In order that the appliance functions outside of the programmed periods, pull out all of the timer's pins. Anti-freezing feature: With the knob of the thermostat in position , the appliance maintains the room at a temperature of about 5°C, thus preventing freezing with a minimal expenditure of energy. With the models equipped with a timer, the pins must be pulled out. MAINTENANCE Always pull the plug out of the power point before cleaning the heater. Periodically clean the air intake and outlet grilles during the period in which the heater is in use with a vacuum cleaner. Do not use abrasive cleaning products or solvents. WARNINGS Do not use the appliance in the vicinity of showers, bath tubs, wash basins, swimming pools, etc. Always use the heater in an upright position. Do not use the heater to dry your laundry. Never obstruct the intake and outlet grilles (danger of overheating). The heater must be positioned at least 50 cm from furniture or other objects. When the appliance is used in portable version, do not place it up against walls, furniture, curtains, etc. The appliance must be installed so that the switches and other controls can not be reached by persons using the bath tub or the shower. If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorised service centre or a qualified electrician in order to eliminate all risk. The appliance must not be positioned directly underneath a fixed power point. Do not cover the appliance while it is functioning in order to avoid overheating with the attendant risk of fire. Do not use the appliance in rooms less than 4 m2 in area. The heater is fitted with a safety device which will switch off the heater in case of accidental overheating (eg. obstruction of air intake and outlet grilles, motor turning slowly or not at all). To reset, disconnect the plug from the power for a few minutes, remove the cause of overheating then plug the appliance in again. Warning: in order to avoid overheating, do not cover the heater. 3 F Tension Puissance voir plaquette données RACCORDEMENT AU RESEAU Avant de brancher la fiche dans la prise de courant, vérifier attentivement que le voltage de votre secteur corresponde à la valeur en V indiquée sur l'appareil. S'assurer que la prise de courant ait une puissance de 10/16 A. Cet appareil est conforme à la Directive 89/336 concernant la compatibilité électromagnétique. INSTALLATION L'appareil peut être utilisé comme appareil portatif ou fixe. Pour fixer l'appareil au mur, utiliser 2 chevilles et 2 vis à insérer dans les orifices prévus à cet effet sur les ailettes arrière de l'appareil. Fixer ensuite l'appareil au mur en plaçant une vis dans l'orifice situé sur la base de l'appareil. Positionner l'appareil en respectant les distances minimales indiquées à la fig. 1. Dans le cas d'installation dans une salle de bains, l'appareil doit absolument être positionné au mur à l'extérieur du "volume de protection" illustré à la fig. 2. FONCTIONNEMENT ET UTILISATION MODELES SANS TIMER Service d'été (uniquement ventilation): tourner le bouton dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre sur la position . Chauffage à puissance réduite: tourner le bouton sur la position 1. Le voyant lumineux s'allume. Chauffage à puissance maximum: tourner le bouton sur la position 2. Le voyant lumineux s'allume. Réglage du thermostat: quand la pièce a atteint la température voulue, tourner lentement le bouton du thermostat dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre jusqu'à ce que le voyant lumineux s'éteigne (ou jusqu'à la position signalée par un "click" pour les modèles sans voyant) et pas au-delà. La température ainsi établie sera réglée automatiquement et maintenue constante par le thermostat. Arrêt: remettre le bouton sur la position "O". MODELES AVEC PROGRAMMATEUR (MINUTERIE) 24 HEURES Pour programmer le chauffage, procédez de la manière suivante: Regardez l'heure sur votre montre. Supposons qu'il soit 18 heures, tournez dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre le disque numéroté du programmateur afin de placer le numéro 18 en face du symbole de référence imprimé sur la façade de l'appareil. Réglez les périodes de temps de fonctionnement souhaitées, en tirant vers l'extérieur les dents de la minuterie. Vous observerez alors des secteurs correspondants aux horaires de fonctionnement. Une fois réglé, l'appareil fonctionnera automatiquement tous les jours aux heures programmées (remarque importante: pour ne pas décaler le programme réglé, laissez toujours la fiche branchée dans la prise de courant). Pour modifier la programmation, remettez toujours les dents de la minuterie dans la position initiale et réglez les nouvelles périodes de fonctionnement. Chaque dent de la minuterie correspond à une période de 30 minutes. Exclusion du programme: afin d'obtenir le fonctionnement de l'appareil en dehors des temps programmés, placez toutes les dents de la minuterie vers l'extérieur. Dispositif antigel: en plaçant le bouton du thermostat sur la position , vous sélectionnez la fonction antigel de l'appareil qui maintiendra ainsi la pièce à une température d'environ 5°C avec une consommation d'énergie minimale. ENTRETIEN Débrancher toujours l'appareil, avant toute opération de nettoyage. Nettoyer régulièrement les grilles d'entrée et de sortie de l'air pendant la période d'utilisation de l'appareil avec un aspirateur. Ne jamais utiliser des poudres abrasives ou des solvants. ATTENTION Ne pas utiliser l'appareil tout près de douches, baignoires, éviers, piscines, etc. N'utiliser l'appareil qu'en position verticale. Ne pas utiliser l'appareil pour sécher le linge, ne pas obstruer les grilles d'entrée et de sortie de l'air (danger de surchauffage). Ne laisser aucun meuble ou autre objet à une distance de l'appareil inférieure à 50 cm. En utilisant l'appareil en version portative, ne jamais le mettre en service en faisant reposer la partie arrière contre les murs, les meubles, les rideaux etc. L'appareil doit être installé de façon que les interrupteurs et les autres commandes soient à l'abri de ceux qui utilisent la baignoire ou la douche. Si le cable d'alimentation est endommagé, il doit être changé par le fabricant, son service de maintenance ou par une personne de qualification similaire, afin d'éviter un danger. Cet appareil ne doit pas être placé juste au-dessous d'une prise de courant placée à poste fixe. Ne jamais couvrir l'appareil pendant le fonctionnement, pour éviter tout risque d'incendie. Ne jamais utiliser cet appareil dans une pièce dont la surface de base est inférieure à 4 m2.
