ELECTRICAL CONNECTION (U.K. ONLY) A) If your appliance comes fitted with a plug, it will incorporate a 13 Amp fuse. If it does not fit your socket, the plug should be cut off from the mains lead, and on appropriate plug fitted, as below. WARNING: Very carefully dispose of the cut off plug after removing the fuse: do not insert in a 13 Amp socket elsewhere in the house as this could cause a shock hazard. With alternative plugs not incorporating a fuse, the circuit must be protected by a 15 Amp fuse. If the plug is a moulded-on type, the fuse cover must be re-fitted when changing the fuse using a 13 Amp Asta approved fuse to BS 1362. In the event of losing the fuse cover, the plug must NOT be used until a replacement fuse cover can be obtained from your nearest electrical dealer. The colour of the correct replacement fuse cover is that as marked on the base of the plug. If your appliance is not fitted with a plug, please follow the instructins provided below: B) WARNING - THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED IMPORTANT The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code: Green and yellow Earth Blue Neutral Brown Live E L N As the colours of the wires in the mains lead may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows: The green and yellow wire must be connected to the terminal in the plug marked with the letter E or the earth symbol or coloured green or green and yellow. The blue wire must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter N or coloured black. The brown wire must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter L or coloured red. 3 I 1. GENERALITA' Togliere l'apparecchio dalla scatola imballo, e capovolgerlo quindi appoggiarlo sul polistirolo. Controllare l'integrità del cavo di alimentazione e che l'apparecchio non abbia subito danni durante il trasporto. Non far funzionare l'apparecchio se danneggiato. 2. MONTAGGIO DEI PIEDINI Rimuovere i piedini e le rotelle dall'imballo in polistirolo. Inserire le ruote nel perno del piedino e premere a fondo fino ad udire uno scatto (fig. 1). Assicurarsi tirando, che le ruote siano ben fissate. Alcuni modelli hanno le ruote già montate nel perno del piede. Montare i piedini mediante l'apposito tirante filettato e relativi dadi ad alette nella parte inferiore del radiatore solo tra gli elementi esterni come illustrato nelle figure 2-3-4. A seconda del tipo di piedino in dotazione tipo A o tipo B vogliate provvedere al corretto montaggio degli stessi, come rappresentato in figura 5 o 6. 3. ALLACCIAMENTO ELETTRICO - Prima di inserire la spina nella presa di corrente verificare attentamente che il voltaggio della Vostra rete domestica corrisponda al valore in V indicato sull'apparecchio e che la presa di corrente e la linea di alimentazione siano dimensionate al carico richiesto. - COLLEGARE IL RADIATORE SOLAMENTE A PRESE DOTATE DI UNA EFFICIENTE MESSA A TERRA. - Questo apparecchio è conforme alla direttiva 89/336/CEE e al D.M. 476/92 sulla compatibilità elettromagnetica. 4. FUNZIONAMENTO ED USO Accensione Inserire la spina nella presa di corrente; spostare il termostato fino all'arresto in posizione di massimo; accendere il radiatore mediante il/gli interruttori secondo le modalità indicate ai punti a) - b). a) Modelli con interruttore singolo (1 potenza) tasto in posizione "I" = potenza totale inserita (spia accesa) tasto in posizione "O" = spento (spia spenta) b) Modelli con interruttore doppio (3 potenze) solo tasto in posizione "l" = potenza minima (spia accesa) solo tasto in posizione "ll" = potenza intermedia (spia accesa) entrambi i tasti in posizione "l" "ll" = potenza massima (spie accese) Regolazione del termostato Quando l'ambiente avrà raggiunto la temperatura desiderata, ruotare in senso antiorario lentamente il termostato fino allo spegnimento della spia luminosa (o fino alla posizione segnalata da un "click") e non oltre. La temperatura così fissata verrà automaticamente regolata e mantenuta costante dal termostato. Funzione antigelo Con il termostato in posizione e gli interruttori premuti, l'apparecchio mantiene l'ambiente ad una temperatura di circa 5°C impedendo il congelamento con un minimo dispendio di energia. c) Modelli con programmatore (Timer) 24 ore (fig. 7) Per programmare il riscaldamento procedere nel seguente modo: - Guardate l'ora del Vostro orologio. Supponendo che siano le 10, ruotate in senso orario il disco numerato del programmatore fino a far coincidere il numero 10 dello stesso con l'indice di riferimento impresso sul programmatore. - Impostare i periodi di tempo in cui desiderate che l'apparecchio funzioni, spingendo verso il centro i dentini. Ogni dentino corrisponde ad un periodo di tempo di 15 min. Saranno a questo punto visibili dei settori che corrispondono ai periodi di funzionamento. - Così predisposto il radiatore funzionerà automaticamente ogni giorno nell'orario programmato (Importante: la spina deve essere sempre inserita nella presa di corrente). * 4 - Per variare la programmazione basta riportare i dentini nella posizione iniziale ed impostare i nuovi periodi di funzionamento. - Se desiderate far funzionare l'apparecchio senza programmazione spingete verso il centro tutti i dentini. In questo caso per lo spegnimento totale dell'apparecchio oltre che spegnere gli interruttori è necessario togliere anche la spina dalla presa al fine di evitare un inutile funzionamento del programmatore. RISCALDAMENTO TURBO Alcuni modelli sono dotati di termoventilazione che riscalda più velocemente la stanza. Per avviare questa funzione premere il tasto in posizione . Importante: un dispositivo di sicurezza interviene e spegne l'apparecchio in caso di surriscaldamenti dovuti ad accumulo di polvere sulle griglie di entrata ed uscita aria. Per riattivarlo, togliere la spina dalla presa, lasciare che l'apparecchio si raffreddi, pulire le griglie di entrata ed uscita aria con un aspiraspirapolvere, quindi ricollegare l'apparecchio alla rete e riaccenderlo. 5. MANUTENZIONE Prima di qualunque intervento staccare la spina dalla presa di corrente ed attendere che il radiatore sia freddo. Il radiatore elettrico ad olio non richiede una particolare manutenzione. E' sufficiente spolverarlo con un panno soffice ed asciutto. Non usare mai polveri abrasive o solventi. Se necessario rimuovere eventuali concentrazioni di sporcizia servendovi di un'aspirapolvere. 6. AVVERTENZE IMPORTANTE: Non coprire in nessun caso l'apparecchio durante il funzionamento, poiché ciò provocherebbe surriscaldamenti pericolosi. Qualora non venga rispettata questa raccomandazione un dispositivo di sicurezza interrompere il funzionamento del radiatore. Per ripristinare il funzionamento è necessario l'intervento dell'assistenza tecnica. - Non usare il radiatore nelle immediate vicinanze di vasche da bagno, docce, lavandini o piscine. - Non usare il radiatore per asciugare la biancheria, non appoggiare il cavo di collegamento sugli elementi caldi. - Usare il radiatore sempre e soltanto in posizione verticale. - Se il cavo di alimentazione è danneggiato, esso deve essere sostituito dal costruttore o dal suo servizio assistenza tecnica in modo da prevenire ogni rischio. - Al primo avvio, far funzionare l'apparecchio alla massima potenza per almeno 2 ore. Durante questa operazione aerare bene la stanza al fine di eliminare l'odore "di nuovo" che si sprigiona dall'apparecchio. - E' del tutto normale che l'apparecchio emetta degli "scricchiolii" al primo avvio. - L'apparecchio non deve essere posto immediatamente sotto una presa di corrente fissa. - Il contenitore di questo apparecchio è riempito con una esatta quantità di olio e le riparazioni che ne richiedono l'apertura devono essere eseguite solo dal Costruttore o dal suo Servizio Assistenza. In caso di perdite di olio deve essere contattato il Costruttore o il suo Servizio Assistenza. - Nel caso di rottamazione dell'apparecchio è necessario rispettare le disposizioni relative allo smaltimento dell'olio. - Non utilizzare questo apparecchio in stanze, la cui area di base è inferiore a 4 m2. 5 GB 1. GENERAL FEATURES Remove the appliance from the packaging, turn upside down and rest on the polystyrene. Check that neither the appliance nor the power cable has been damaged in any way during transportation. Do not operate the appliance if damaged 2. FITTING THE FEET Remove the feet and the castors from the polystyrene packing. Fit the castors to the spindles on the feet and push firmly until they click into position (fig. 1). Pull each castor to check that it is fitted correctly. In certain models, the castors are already mounted on the feet. Using the threaded u-bolt and wing nuts, fit the feet to the bottom of the radiator between the last two elements as shown in figures 2, 3 and 4. Depending on the type supplied, type A or type B, mount the feet as shown in figure 5 or 6. 3. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION - Before plugging the radiator into the mains, check that the voltage of your mains electricity supply corresponds to the value V indicated on the appliance and that the socket and power line are appropriately dimensioned. - CONNECT THE RADIATOR TO EFFICIENTLY EARTHED SOCKETS ONLY - This appliance complies with EEC Directive 89/336 and D.M. 476/92, relating to electromagnetic compatibility. 4. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE Switching on Plug into the mains socket. Turn the thermostat to maximum. Switch the radiator on using the switch/switches following the procedures given in points a) - b). a) Models with single switch (1 power level): button in position «I» = Total power on (indicator light on); button in position «O» = (indicator light off) b) Models with double switch (3 power levels) button in position «l» = minimum power (indicator light on); button in position «ll» = intermediate power (indicator light on); both buttons in position «l» «ll» = maximum power (indicator lights on) To turn appliance off, switch off both switches or remove plug from wall socket. Adjusting the thermostat When the room has reached the required temperature, turn the thermostat slowly anticlockwise until the indicator light goes out (or until you hear a "click") and no further. The set temperature will then be regulated automatically and kept constant by the thermostat. Frost protection function With the thermostat in position and the switches pressed, the appliance maintains the room at a temperature of about 5°C, preventing freezing with minimum energy consumption. c) Models with a 24 hour time-clock (fig. 7) To programme heating, proceed as follows: - Look at the time on your clock or watch. If it is 10.00, turn the numbered timer disk clockwise until the number 10 on the disk coincides with the pointer s on the timer. Set the periods of time when you want the appliance to work by pushing the teeth inwards. Each tooth corresponds to a period of 15 minutes. This will leave visible sectors which correspond to the periods of operation. When set, the radiator will operate automatically each day during the times programmed (important: the radiator must always be plugged into the socket). - To change the programming, move the teeth back into the initial position and set the new periods of functioning. * 6 - If you want to make the appliance operate without programming, push all the teeth into the centre. In this case, to turn the appliance off completely, as well as turning the switches off, you must also unplug it from the mains to avoid continued operation of the timer. TURBO HEATING Some models are fitted with a heating fan which heats the room more quickly. To turn this function on, push the button into the position. Important: a safety device cuts in and switches off the appliance if it overheats due to an accumulation of dust on the air intake and output grills. To restart it, unplug from the mains and leave the appliance to cool down. Clean the air intake and output grills with a vacuum cleaner, then replug into the mains and turn on again. 5. MAINTENANCE Before carrying out any operation on the radiator, unplug from the electric mains and wait for it to cool. The oil-filled electric radiator requires no particular maintenance. It is sufficient to remove the dust with a soft, dry cloth. Never use abrasive powders or solvents. If necessary remove concentrations of dirt using a vacuum cleaner. 6. IMPORTANT IMPORTANT: Never under any circumstances cover the appliance during operation as this would lead to dangerous overheating. If this recommendation is not respected, a safety device will turn the radiator off. To reset, contact the technical assistance service. - Never use the radiator near a bath, shower, basin or swimming pool. - Never use the radiator to dry damp garments. Never rest the cable on hot elements. - Use the radiator in the vertical position only. - If the electric cable has been damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or the technical service ce ...
