They contain important information about the safety, operation and disposal of the appliance. Before using the product familiarise yourself with all of these operating and safety instructions. Use the appliance only as described and for the given areas of application. Pass these instructions on to whoever might acquire the appliance at a future date. GB Intended use With this appliance you can gently remove hairs from your nose or ears and and trim your eyebrows. This appliance is intended exclusively for domestic use. It is not intended for commercial applications. This appliance is not intended for any other use or for uses beyond those mentioned in these operating instructions. WARNING Risks from unintended use! Risks can be engendered by this appliance if it is used for unintended purposes and/or other types of use. Use the appliance exclusively for its intended purposes. Observe the procedures described in these operating instructions. Claims of any kind for damage resulting from unintended use will not be accepted. The operator alone bears liability. SNHT 1.5 B2 3 GB Safety instructions TAKE NOTE Protect the cutter head from impacts and do not use excessive pressure. This will prevent the blades from becoming damaged. Do not open the housing - there are no user-serviceable elements inside. WARNING This appliance is not intended for use by individuals (including children) with restricted physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or deficiences in experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or receive from this person instruction in how the appliance is to be used. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Repairs should only be carried out by authorised specialist companies or by the Customer Service Department. Incompetent repairs can result in significant risks for the user. In addition, warranty claims become void. Defective components may only be replaced with original replacement parts. Only by using original replacement parts can it be guaranteed that the safety requirements are being complied with. Do not use the appliance if the blades are deformed or damaged in any way. Risk of injury! Before use check the appliance for visible external damage. Do not put into operation an appliance that is damaged or has been dropped. Do not make any unauthorised modifications or alterations to the appliance. There is also a risk of personal injury! 4 SNHT 1.5 B2 INTERACTION WITH BATTERIES Do not throw batteries into a fire. Do not recharge batteries. The risk of explosions and injuries exists! Never open batteries, never solder or weld batteries. The risk of explosions and injuries exists! Regularly check the condition of the battery. A leaking battery can cause damage to the appliance. Remove the battery if you do not intend to use the appliance for an extended period of time. In the event of the batteries leaking acids, first put on a pair of protective gloves. Then clean the battery compartment and the battery contacts with a dry cloth. Keep batteries well away from children. Children can put batteries into their mouths and swallow them. If a battery is swallowed, medical assistance must be sought immediately. If the delivery is not complete or is damaged due to defective packaging or through transportation contact the Service Hotline (see chapter Service). SNHT 1.5 B2 5 GB Disposal of the packaging The packaging protects the appliance from transport damage. The packaging materials are selected from the point of view of their environmental friendliness and disposal technology and are therefore recyclable. The recirculation of packaging into the material circuit saves on raw material and reduces generated waste. Dispose of packaging material that is no longer needed according to the regionally established regulations. NOTICE If possible preserve the appliance's original packaging during the warranty period so that in the case of a warranty claim you can package the appliance properly for return. Appliance description 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 Cutting heads Cutter head holder On/Off switch Hand element Battery compartment Battery compartment cover Comb attachment (small - 4 mm) Comb attachment (large - 7 mm) Cleaning brush Protective cover Inserting the battery 1) To open the battery compartment 5, turn the battery compartment cover 6 so far against the direction of the arrow on the hand element 4 that the spot on the battery compartment cover 6 lies under the opened lock on the hand element 4 . You can now take the battery compartment cover 6 off. 2) Insert a battery of the type AA/Mignon/LR06. Pay heed to the correct polarity (indicated in the battery compartment 5)! 6 SNHT 1.5 B2 3) Close the battery compartment 5. To do this, place the battery compartment cover 6 at an angle on the battery compartment 5, so that the spot on the battery compartment cover 6 lies under the opened lock on the hand element 4 . Turn the battery compartment cover 6 until the spot lies under the closed lock on the hand element . GB Using the appliance Trimming nose hairs 1) Remove (if fitted) the comb attachment 7/8 from the cutting head 1. 2) Slide the on/off switch 3 upwards. WARNING - RISK OF INJURY Do not insert the cutting head 1 too deeply! NOTICE Ensure that your nostrils are clean. 3) Guide the cutting head 1 carefully into the nostril and slowly turn the appliance so that all nose hair growth is removed. 4) Withdraw the cutting head 1 out of the nostril whilst turning the appliance. 5) Switch the appliance off by sliding the on/off switch 3 downwards. Trimming eyebrows 1) Affix the desired comb attachment (4 mm 7 or 7 mm 8) to the cutting head 1 so that it is firmly seated. 2) Slide the on/off switch 3 upwards. 3) To trim all of the hair of the eyebrow, move the comb attachment 7/8 over the eyebrow and against the direction of hair growth. 4) To trim only individual hairs, move the comb attachment 7/8 over the eyebrow and only against these individual hairs. 5) In order to trim hair to just above the skin surface, remove the comb attachment 7/8 and guide the cutting head 1 directly over the skin in the desired areas. 6) Switch the appliance off by sliding the on/off switch 3 downwards. 7 SNHT 1.5 B2 Trimming hairs in the ears GB WARNING - RISK OF INJURY Do not insert the cutting head 1 too deeply! 1) Remove (if fitted) the comb attachment 7/8 from the cutting head 1. 2) Guide the cutting head 1 carefully into the ear. 3) Slide the on/off switch 3 upwards. 4) Use circular motions so that all unwanted hair growth is removed. 5) Switch the appliance off by sliding the on/off switch 3 downwards. Cleaning and Care WARNING - PROPERTY DAMAGE NEVER submerse the appliance in water or other liquids! NEVER hold the hand element 4 under running water! Do not use sharp objects when cleaning the cutting head 1. Do not use abrasive, aggressive or chemical cleaning agents. Clean the appliance after every use: To remove hair from the cutting head 1 and the comb attachments 7/8, clean them with the cleaning brush 9. Wipe the hand element 4 with a moist cloth. For stubborn soiling use a mild detergent on the cloth. Clean the comb attachments 7/8 under running water. NOTICE Do not use the appliance again until it has completely dried. 8 SNHT 1.5 B2 NOTICE At regular intervals place a few drops of blade oil suitable for razor appliances in the cutting head holder 2, at the latest when the blades no longer run smoothly. GB For this you need to remove the cutter head holder 2: 1) Turn the cutter head holder 2 anti-clockwise through approx. 45° to release and remove it. 2) To reattach it, place the cutter head holder 2 at about 45° to the right onto the hand element 4 and so that it grips into the rail on the hand element 4. 3) Turn the cutter head holder 2 in a clockwise direction to secure it. Storage Store the appliance at a clean and dust-free location. Always place the protective cover 0 on the cutter head 1 to protect it. If the appliance is not to be used for an extended period, remove the battery so as to avoid battery leakage. SNHT 1.5 B2 9 GB Disposal Do not dispose of this appliance in your normal domestic waste. This product is subject to the provisions of European Directive 2002/96/EC. Dispose of the appliance through an approved disposal centre or at your community waste facility.
